Title

Bachelor (Bc.)

Employment possibilities of the graduate

Graduates will find wide professional employment possibilities in churches and congregations, institutions of social life and state administration. Graduation in Theology is in the Catholic Church a prerequisite for acceptance as a deacon and entering priestly service, and application in lay pastoral care. In the social sphere, graduates can find employment as experts in programmes related to church or religious issues, for example in the media, publishing houses, and in the educational system as teachers of religion and ethics (for a commission to teach, a canonical mission is required by the Catholic Church).

Characteristics of the field of study

Theology is Catholic-focused but at the same time ecumenically open, scientifically based and oriented towards practical Christian life. The study is open to a wide range of Christians of all religions and people interested in Christianity. It is intended for people of all ages: high school graduates as well as people who need to supplement their professional qualifications or want to deepen their spiritual life by studying theological disciplines. The study can be completed as a single field or in a combination of religion (major) with a supplementary field (minor). For combinations of disciplines offered at the Faculty of Theology, we recommend religion or philosophy.
