What does contemporary Czech and Slovak Islamology discuss?

On Thursday, November 10 and Friday, November 11, 2022, the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies of the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (TF JU) organized the sixth annual professional conference with international participation "Czech and Slovak Islamology 2022: current topics and future challenges". The meeting was attended by academics and other experts from Heidelberg, Prague, Pilsen, Brno, Olomouc, České Budějovice, Košice and Bratislava. Compared to previous years, the number of lecturers has stabilized and their composition has partly changed.

"During two days, there was an opportunity to listen to a number of stimulating presentations and discussions related to the contemporary life of Muslims in our country and abroad. Hopefully in the coming years it will be possible to reach out to experts from other Czech and Slovak universities and both academies of sciences. Only then will there be a complete answer to the question of what contemporary Czech and Slovak Islamology is discussing," said conference organizer Martin Klapetek.
