“I will consider the arguments for Banez’s position that the ratio of the supposit includes not only a real mode distinct from the nature, but also extrinsically the act of existence. On this account, although the supposit is not constituted by the act of existence, the ratio of a supposit includes an order to existence. This position avoids the pitfalls of the opposed position that either 1) make existence intrinsic to the supposit, or 2) entirely sever the connection between subsistence and existence.”
