DID GOD CREATE US, OR EVOLUTION?
In other words - is religion right, or science? Must they necessarily exclude one another? And do people seek truth, or rather meaning? Is there even a difference between the two? Scholars of religion will not give you a simple answer. Their task is not to expose errors or confirm the one correct view, but to listen to the many stories by which human beings interpret their place in the world. Would you like to join us? SHOULD WE FOLLOW THE TEN COMMANDMENTS?
Or perhaps the Five Precepts defined by Buddhists? Different religions have sought to express key guidelines for human relationships. Many agree on some points - such as that one should not steal or lie. Maybe it can all be summed up in the golden rule: ´Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.´ Do you agree? HOW DID THE FIRST RELIGION COME INTO BEING?
This question kept the first scholars of religion awake at night. Did it all begin with the idea of a soul, with encounters with impersonal natural forces, or with attempts to control the world through magic?
