The first year of Winter School of Philosophy of Education was held from February 1st to 5th, 2021. It was organized by the Department of Education, Faculty of Theology, University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice together with the Department of Religious Studies, Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University, Slovakia. About 70 participants could also listen to the speakers from University of Pardubice and University of Ostrava.
´Our main goal was to create a common platform for dialogue on current issues of education´, said Zuzana Svobodová, Department of Education, Faculty of Theology, USB.
Individual presentations dealt with selected philosophical texts, followed by an hour-long discussion.
"The participants appreciated not only the interesting topics of the lectures, but above all the open atmosphere. This is necessary because only in freedom is it possible to jointly search for answers to questions concerning the very essence of human life, such as the search for wisdom, reason, meaning, truth, goodness and respect in human life, "said Andrea Blaščíková from Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University.
The second year will take place in 2022 and the organizers hope that it will no longer be necessary to choose the online form.
