9th Czech Philosophy of Sport conference at the Faculty of Theology, University of South Bohemia

It is our pleasure to announce that these days, October, 22 - 23, 2020, the 9th Czech Philosophy of Sport conference took place at Faculty of Theology building. It is already a traditional platform for meeting Czech and foreign experts in the field of philosophy of sport.
This year, for the first time, the event was organised in České Budějovice at the Faculty of Theology, USB, which is the co-organizer of this year. The language of the conference was English.

Due to the current covid-19 situation and restrictions, the conference moved to the online space, it was held on the Zoom platform. We had 15 speakers not only from the Czech Republic, but also from Great Britain, Venezuela, Canada, or Spain. Keynotes this year were Jan Halák (Olomouc/Prague) and Jiří Kouřil (Brno). Among the presented topics were categorisation in sport, reflections on the female category in sport, addiction to sport, or insights into the ancient Greek sport. Our faculty was represented by Lukáš Mareš (Ph.D. student of Philosophy) and his supervisor Daniel D. Novotný. Their lecture was on the definition of sport.
